Rotherham United’s Kevin Ellison says he is pretty pleased with his recent form.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after his goal got all three points at Barnet on Saturday, Kevin said, ‘The win was important because it keeps us in the play-offs. But, it was nice to score.’

Speaking about his goal, the former Tranmere Rovers player said, ‘Basically the gaffer’s put me on corners and free kicks and he told me to try and hit that back stick and if everyone misses it then it goes in. And, it was one of those things and it went in today.’

The thirty-one year old admitted that the enforced break over Christmas had absolutely killed him, ‘Afterwards,’ he said, ‘I just couldn’t get in the games. I was ill for the game against Bury and the lads did well and the gaffer never put me back in. But, just lately, I’ve been back in and we’ve gone on to win a few games though it’s not all about me. As a team, since Christmas, I don’t think we have played that well to be honest but we’re getting back into it now.

‘If we get a win next Saturday then it will be a bit easier going to Hereford and hopefully, I’ll find a bit of form going into the play-offs.’
