Rotherham United defender Stephen Kelly insists the season can still be saved.

Speaking to The Rotherham Advertiser the thirty-three year old said that after Peter Odemwingie was sent-off against Leeds last weekend that he thought the team played better.

‘We were almost better with ten than eleven. The energy levels were excellent, the determination to stop stuff going in, blocks, tackles and trying to win second balls. It was all there in the second half.

‘We can’t let teams walk all over us and we’ve got to take things forward. Up to now it’s been one step forward and four or five steps back. We can’t do that now.

‘It’s too late and we are going to have too much of a chase on our hands whereas if we start stringing results together now then at Christmas time we can look at the table and think it might be possible.’
