Rotherham United defender, Marc Joseph, says that he was happy to be in the starting side that beat Morecambe on Tuesday night and told MillersWorld that it was the changed formation that allowed him to play.

‘The gaffer likes a few strings to his bow,’ Joseph said, ‘and it’s good that we can change from formation to formation depending on who is in the team and who we are playing. We knew Morecambe play with wingbacks and we needed to match them man for man. And, we were delighted with the win. At the moment I am playing on the left and I am comfortable with that – I class myself as a bit of a utility defender at the minute.’ When Marc was asked about Morecambe’s striker, Rene Howe, he answered, ‘the trickiest part of his game is his mouth. He talks a good game and I didn’t really have any bother with him.

‘We want to finish in the top four and we know we need to win all our games. We have already improved on last season and we want to improve on that next season which would mean finishing in the play-offs or automatic promotion.’

Talking about the game against Bradford on Saturday, Marc said, ‘They have hit a bit of bad form at the minute. We want to put on a good display for the fans for the next couple of games so we have something to build on next season.’
