Rotherham United striker Jordan Bowery says that this season has been a good test for him.

The twenty-three year old joined the Millers from Aston Villa last summer for, what was at the time, Rotherham’s record fee breaking transfer. Having made thirty-three appearances this season Jordan has scored just a couple of goals but is hoping for more minutes on the pitch next season.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Jordan said, ‘I’ve enjoyed this season and I’d have liked a few more minutes but full respect to the lads because it’s some good players who have kept me out. But, over the next few games, I want to show what I could do.

‘It’s a very hard league and there are no easy games. Every time you step over that line it’s a battle. There are players from the Premier League who have come down and others who have been in the Championship for a while.

‘Would I hope to be a wiser striker next season? Of course and hopefully I can kick on more after the summer.

‘For now we need to keep grafting and give it one hundred per cent every time we step over the line. We want to stay in this league and we know we’re good enough to be in it.’
