January might be known to many as the first month of a New Year when you make resolutions in a vain hope that you will stick to them.

But, in football, January is really known for the transfer market – or the ‘we`ve got a month, let`s do some deals`.

Let`s go back to the start of the season and even beyond to pre-season when players come and go – then August arrives and it`s rumours, rumours, rumours of who is after who and where so-and-so might end up until the 31st and then all goes quiet until Christmas has been and gone – and then it all starts again with thirty-one days of rumours, rumours, rumours??

So what of the Millers. We all know that Crawley Town put in a bid (albeit a ludicrous bid) for Lewis Grabban and then we have the rumours that Sheffield Wednesday have been looking at our top scorer. We know that Troy Brown has gone on loan to Aldershot. And, we know that Manager, Andy Scott, has told us that he is looking at players. But, I`m just wondering who will be next out of the door?

Not being a gambler I wouldn`t actually put any money on it, but my bet would probably be that we won`t be seeing Ben Pringle at Rotherham for long. He came from Derby County in the summer, signing a two year deal, and has featured in nine games, starting just two (one in the Carling Cup and one in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy) and hasn`t really shown the potential I think the management team thought he was going to. Saying that, he did come off the bench at the Alexandra Stadium and scored, what turned out to be, the goal that won the game for the Millers back in August. But, with his last appearance being in the five-two loss against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground, I probably think the club will be looking to get him out and my guess would be to a non-league team to get some minutes under his belt with a view to looking at his contract in the summer.

What about you? Who do you think we will loan out/sell during January? And who do you think we will get in?
