Rotherham United are hoping to have striker/winger Izzy Brown fit again for the games after Christmas.

The nineteen year old had to leave the pitch early during the mid-week game with a hamstring problem which involved him going back to his parent club Chelsea for a scan.

‘He wanted to play today,’ interim Millers Boss Paul Warne told MillersPlayer, ‘and he was very close to doing that.

‘He came back from Chelsea and trained with us yesterday. Afterwards he came into my office and said he didn’t feel one hundred per cent but wanted to play.

‘That’s good but I told him I wouldn’t risk his career or being out for another month for me for just one game. That’s not the man I am.

‘I told him if the scan results came back clear then he could play but, unfortunately for us, he had a Grade One injury. But he will only be out for around seven days and as long as everything goes well he’ll be available for selection on Boxing Day.’

Izzy was actually in the stands this afternoon and took time out to have ‘photographs with the fans and sign autographs. Well done young man, can’t wait to have you back in the team.
