A few facts and figures between the Millers and Wanderers

Rotherham United entertain Wycombe Wanderers at Don Valley next Saturday and it’s only the twelfth time they’ve ever met.

The first meeting of the sides came on 14th January 1995 at Millmoor. Wycombe were fresh into the Football League the previous season and looked well placed for a third sucessive promotion as they sat in fourth position in Division Two on the morning of the match, while Rotherham were struggling in seventeenth place. Wycombe, who included former England striker Cyrille Regis in their team, were just one point behind Huddersfield in second place but a Steve Brown own goal in the first half and a strike from Millers striker Andy Hayward after the break gave Rotherham all 3 points.

The last time the two teams met was in the 2008/9 season when both games ended in stalemates. The first game was at Don Valley in November 2008 when both sides were very defensive but it left Wycombe unbeaten in the league. The game at Adams Park was in February and, with the home side intent on getting three points, the Millers did well to get a point.
