A few facts and figures from previous games between the Millers and the Royals

Rotherham United welcome Reading to the New York Stadium tomorrow evening which will be the thirty-ninth league meeting between the two sides.

The last time the Millers met Reading at the NYS was in April. Matt Derbyshire opened the scoring for the hosts on fifty-two minutes with Lee Frecklington doubling the score six minutes later. Oliver Norwood got a consolation for the visitors. The only booking of the day was for Derbyshire.

The time before that that the sides met on Rotherham soil was at Millmoor on a Tuesday night in March 2005. The game looked like it was going to end goalless until a free-kick to the hosts in injury time was headed on to Paul Warne who scored from close range giving the managerless Millers just their second home win of the season.

The season before goals from Michael Proctor (2), Andy Monkhouse, Martin Butler and Richie Barker gave the Millers a five-one home win against Reading in League One. Former Miller Shaun Goater had opened the scoring on twenty minutes from the penalty spot for the visitors at Millmoor.

The last time Reading won at Millmoor was when both were in Division Two in the 2000/1 season. Martin Butler (who was later to play for the Millers) scored on six minutes but after a tug from a Reading player the referee awarded the hosts a penalty which Mark Robins (formerly of Reading) placed, took and scored to make it one-one. But second half goals from Jamie Cureton and Jim McIntyre gave the visitors a three-one win.

The first time the sides met at Millmoor was in March 1969 which was a four-one win for the Millers with two goals coming from Graham Leggett and one each from Johnny Mullen and Dave Watson.

Earlier this season at the Madejski Stadium a goal from Jamie Mackie and two from Simon Cox gave Reading a three-nil win.

Of the thirty-eight previous league games Reading have won sixteen to the Millers ten.
