The Millers travel to Vale Park for the Easter Monday game tomorrow

Rotherham go to Port Vale tomorrow hoping to do the double after a Drewe Broughton goal in the sixty-seventh minute gave them victory at Don Valley on Boxing Day last year. It was a game that also saw Marc Joseph receive a red card when he brought down Kyle Perry for what appeared to be no reason in the twenty-fourth minute.

The last time the Millers went to Vale Park, they came away with all three points in October 2006. Goals from Justin Cochrane and Dave Hibbert put the Millers in front before Leon Constantine put away a penalty for the home side on seventy-four minutes. Will Hoskins made all three points safe when he scored the Millers third five minutes from time. Referee Darren Drysdale booked Cochrane, Hoskins and Lee Williamson that day and Vale’s Stefan Moore.

In all, the Millers have played Port Vale forty-nine times in the league, winning twenty, drawing eleven and losing eighteen. The only time these two teams have met in a cup game was in the League Cup in the 2005/06 season at Millmoor. Rotherham won 3-1 with an own goal from Steve Rowland, one from Deon Burton and in the last minute a goal from Jon Ostemobor. A certain Micky Cummins got Port Vales only goal of the game.
