A few facts and figures of previous games between the Millers and Oxford

Rotherham United take on Oxford on Saturday which will be the twenty-sixth league meeting between the two sides.

The two last met in the league at the home of Rotherham in September 2012 when the Millers were playing their ‘home’ games at Don Valley. Sean Rigg put the U ‘s ahead on eight minutes but a spot-kick from Michael O’Connor on the half-hour mark made it one-one. In the second half another goal from O’Connor and one two minutes from time by Jason Taylor gave the Millers all three points.

Adam Le Fondre scored twice in the Millers two-one win at Don Valley in November 2010 with a goal on the stroke of half-time from Simon Clist giving the visitors a consolation goal.

The last time the two met in Rotherham in the league was at Millmoor in October 2000 in Division Two in a game that saw four goals in the last fifteen minutes of the game. Paul Warne put the Millers in the lead on seventy-six minutes followed six minutes later by one from Kevin Watson. Derek Lilley pulled one back for the visitors on eighty-four minutes but Warney made sure in the last minute of the game which made it three-one to the Millers.

The last time Oxford got a point at Millmoor was in Division Two in 1995 when the game ended one-all. Shaun Goater scored for the host and Matt Murphy for the U’s.

The last time that Oxford beat the Millers at Millmoor was in Division Three in December 1983 when they won two-one.

The two have met at the New York Stadium last season in the FA Cup. Ryan Taylor scored four minutes before half-time with Danny Ward replying six minutes into the second half. Phil Edwards and Kane Hemmings scored for Oxford with Tom Adeyemi making it three-two on the ninetieth minute.

The game at the Kassam earlier this season saw six goals. Joe Newell scored twenty minutes in for the visitors but a minute later Jack Payne equalised. Josh Ruffles put the hosts in front on the half-hour mark and they went further in front ten minutes later with a goal from Curtis Nelson. A minute before half-time Ryan Williams struck for the Millers and a goal from Kieffer Moore in the second half gave Rotherham a point. Joe Mattock and Will Vaulks saw yellow that afternoon as well as Oxford’s Canice Carroll and Ryan Ledson.
