The Hatters are in town on Saturday for our FA Cup game…
Rotherham United and Luton Town, along with Bournemouth, made up the three in the ‘mini-league` at the bottom of League Two last season – with all three teams starting on minus points. Unfortunately for the Hatters, they didn`t fair as well as the other two sides and were relegated to the Blue Square Premier League at the end of the season.
Luton haven`t beaten the Millers for twelve years, although in that time the two have only faced each four times and during the 1996/97 season w Luton did the double over the Millers without conceding.
Last season it was different and the game at Don Valley was a win for the Millers with Alex Rhodes getting the only goal of the game. At Kenilworth Road, though, it was a feast of six goals – Reuben Reid opened the scoring for the visitors on eleven minutes and Drewe Broughton doubled the lead seventeen minutes later. Chris Martin pulled one back for the home side just before half time. Danny Harrison got the Millers third in the first ten minutes of the second half, with Asa Hall making it two-three before Mark Hudson gave the Millers their two goal cushion again three minutes before the end of the game.
