Rotherham United welcome Burton Albion to the New York Stadium for their first visit since August 2012 and will be the first time the two have met in the league outside of League Two.

The Millers and Brewers have met just nine times in the League, the first time being at Don Valley in December 2009. Adam Le Fondre put the Millers two up on thirty-nine and sixty-three minutes and Aaron Webster made it two-one on sixty-five minutes. Six minutes later Nick Fenton had a ‘brain-storm’ when he lunged at Webster on the half-way round and there were few complaints when Referee Hooper sent him for an early bath. The visitors took the one man advantage and five minutes from time Greg Pearson got the equaliser to give Burton a point.

The last time the pair met on Rotherham soil was the first league game at the New York Stadium which ended as a comfortable win for the hosts. On five minutes Daniel Nardiello was fouled in the area by Zander Diamond and picked himself up to score the resulting spot kick and six minutes later Kayode Odejayi made it two-nil. A second yellow card for Lee Bell saw the Brewers go down to ten men just after the hour mark and Ben Pringle made it three-nil to the Millers fifteen minutes from time.

Earlier this month the game at the Pirelli Stadium ended two-one to the Brewers with Jackson Irvine and Matthew Palmer scoring for the hosts. Tom Adeyemi scored on ninety minutes for the Millers.

Of the nine league games already played both teams have won three games each with three being draws.
