RUFC – Harrison ‘rest did me good’

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has recently re-called midfielder, Danny Harrison, back into the side and the twenty-five year old earned praise from his gaffer after his performance on Tuesday night against Bury.

Harrison had a hamstring injury and Robins ‘rested’ him at the end of September abd speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Harrison said, ‘It probably did me good to come out of the team. I was feeling a bit fatigued and, if I’d left it with the hamstring, I might have been out longer. I could have few arguments about not getting straight back into the side with the lads playing so well. But, I bided my time and have come back into a winning team.

‘This club is going forward, everyone can see that. We’ve wiped out the points deficit and we’ve got to drag the teams back who are in front of us.’

Well the Millers started to do that yesterday with the 2-1 win over Macclesfield which meant they got out of third place from bottom for the first team this season by jumping over Grimsby.

‘There’s some cracking games coming up,’ Harrison went on to say. ‘For the next few weeks we’ve got Saturday and Tuesday matches and I want to be involved in all of them.’

Harrison, who joined the Millers in the summer of 2007, has recently triggered an appearance clause in his contract meaning that he will be with the club for another year.
