Rotherham United`s stand-in skipper, Danny Harrison is hoping that the New Year will bring in better things.

Speaking to The Advertiser, the former Tranmere Rovers midfielder said, ‘We all know we`ve got to start beating the top teams but someone is close to being on the other end of the complete performance from us.`

The Millers were disappointed not to get anything out of the Cheltenham game last Friday night with Danny saying, ‘Friday night left us scratching our heads a little bit. We`ve played Crawley and Cheltenham, the top two in League Two, and we should have come away with more than we did and we were desperately disappointed not to come away from Cheltenham with something. We were solid in defence and we feel that a couple of tweaks going forward we might have got something out of it.

‘We`ve rectified some of the mistakes we were making earlier in the season and we are close to where we want to be. You can see little things like Gareth Evans coming back and there are people all over the squad that can come in and do jobs if required. Everyone is champing at the bit and the platform is there to push on.`

I don’t know why, but we seem to be back to playing a mediocre forty-five minutes and a very good forty-five minutes. And, to me, in the mediocre forty-five the passing really has to be looked at.
