Rotherham United defender Greg Halford says that the timing of the goals against MK Dons on Saturday couldn’t have been any better.

Speaking to The Advertiser after the four-nil away win Greg said, ‘It was a good performance.

‘We scored so early on that it calmed everyone’s nerves and to get the second goal fifteen or so minutes after that was a real bonus. And then we kept it tight until half-time.

‘We knew they’d be dominant in possession but we kept a good shape and knew that they wouldn’t be able to create too many chances. As soon as we won the ball back we could counter attack quickly and kept created chances. In all honesty it could have been six or seven.

‘We knew coming into this game it was going to be the biggest game of the season and to create a gap was going to be massive for us and we’re all really happy with it.

‘What we needed was a bit of stability and there’s no chopping and changing now in the team. Everyone knows what they are doing and we’ve all got our role in the team which we stick to.’
