Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said yesterday that a deal for a striker had fallen through.

In today’s Yorkshire Post, Ian Appleyard reveals that the player was Canadian international, Marcus Haber.

Moore, it turns out, had been given permission by West Bromwich Albion to speak to Haber, who joined the Baggies in January, but was pipped at the post by League One side, Exeter City.

‘Unfortunately, this moved backfired,’ Moore said. ‘But I am still looking to bring someone in. Someone who is lively with pace and who has a proven goalscoring record.’

Twenty-one year old Haber has only made two Reserve team appearances for West Brom since joining from Vancouver Whitecaps where he scored eight goals in thirty league games.
