Rotherham United defender, Jamie Green is one of the players who is hoping to stay with the Millers for next season. Having played just six times this season, Green the twenty-one year old, who came through the ranks with Rotherham, has recently started one of the last three games and come off the subs bench for the other two.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Jamie said, ‘I`ve had a frustrating eighteen months when Ronnie Moore was here but now Andy Scott has come in I`m in the mix again, which is pleasing.

‘My favourite position is probably left wing, but I played centre of midfield the other day which was a different experience for me, but I thought I adjusted well. I`m a natural defender so if I play out wide my instincts are to defend if I need to get back.

‘My aim is for next season is to be kept on and get more than six appearances. I just want to play. I want to be a first team player, I don`t want to be a bench player. And, if I`m still here, I hope to feature a lot more than I did this year.`

Talking about his month loan with Boston, Jamie said, ‘Going out there was like a breath of fresh air. In four or five games I scored one and set six up so I think I did well. I enjoyed it there and it helped me massively. It was great to play under Hursty (Paul Hurst) there because when I was younger and he was here he helped me out and showed me the ropes and Rob Scott is a good manager as well.’
