Rotherham United midfielder/winger Grant Ward isn’t expecting the Millers to run out of steam before the end of the season.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser the Tottenham Hotspur loanee said, ‘I think we’ve been fitter than any team we’ve played against. We are a fit group anyway and when we had the week of for International Breaks we’ve come in and done running and that’s helped.’

The twenty-one year old has had a good season with Rotherham and had a particularly good game on Saturday against MK Dons.

‘As a winger you want to get at your full-back and from the first touch if you know you’ve got the beating of him then it’s a confidence booster. And if you start well, then that helps you throughout the game. We did that and we took our chances.’

That win on Saturday took the Millers nine points above the Dons and with a much better chance of stopping in the Championship than three months ago.

‘It’s a nice position to be in at the moment,’ Grant carried on, ‘because there have been times when we have been at the bottom when people didn’t give us a chance. Even at the start of the season we were tipped to go down.’

Grant has been on a season long loan from the Premier League side and when asked about his future said, ‘I’m just going to play my football now and see what happens.’

I’m sure I speak for all Millers when I say I’d love it if Grant was to still be with the Millers next season – whether it be another loan or something more permanent.
