Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said that ‘they had got it right` after their one-nil win over Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon at the New York Stadium.

Speaking to Rob Staton of Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss likened the game to a play-off semi-final saying, ‘It was like against Preston when our fans were hoping for a result but not sure they were going to get one because we`ve let them down a couple of times in recent weeks.

‘After looking at training yesterday I picked a team who I thought would be full of energy and I think we got it right today. All but a nervy few minutes I thought our performance was outstanding. We`ve dominated and I thought we should have had a penalty late on, Wardy (Danny Ward) should have scored late on, Matt (Derbyshire) should have scored but it was a super save.

‘The atmosphere in the last ten minutes today when the fans knew we needed them was like Preston and like Wembley. Our fans have been sublime and it was like that in the second half at Birmingham which almost gave me goose bumps. And it did it today too and with five minutes to go I said to the staff ‘we`ve got to hang on for this lot.`

‘Over all we needed to go and win a big match and we`ve done it.`
