Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says he ‘feels’ for the Millers faithful who travelled down to Bristol today only to find, once again, that the game was off when they got there.

With Bristol Rovers making the game a special price day, the Millers fans were travelling in numbers with the Millers Boss telling the Official Site, ‘I really feel for our supporters who had travelled down to the South-West in big numbers.

‘As the rain continued to lash down I sent two members of my coaching staff to look at the pitch mid-morning. They telephoned me immediately to confirm the pitch was sodden and had puddles all over it. The match referee made the correct decision as the pitch was clearly unplayable but to be fair to him he confirmed he was consistently told via telephone all morning that the match was not in any danger.
‘It is about time our travelling fans were taken into consideration because what has gone on recently isn’t acceptable.’

I think we have to put this one down to Bristol Rovers – if they told the referee the pitch was fine then why should he disbelieve them? Although, to be honest, if it had been me and I’d seen the weather, I might have made an early trip to the ground to see for myself.
