Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is hoping that his squad suffer fewer injuries for their campaign in the coming season in League One.

Goalkeeper Scott Shearer played in the Carling Cup game at Hull and then the next eleven league games before suffering a knee then elbow injury which kept him out until the end of March.

Defender Craig Morgan joined the Millers in September but limped out of the four-two win over Cheltenham Town in November with a cracked bone in his fibula and we didn’t see him again until mid-March.

David Noble had a long lay-off from October to January with Mark Bradley flitting in and out of the side with injuries plus others who were out for a game or two along the way.

‘All these things probably had an effect on our performances because of the inconsistency,` The Millers Boss told The Star, ‘and people may ask where we would have been with them all fit. But there are no excuses; we were second and short of the champions over the forty-six matches.`

Still, second isn’t that bad is it!
