Rotherham United skipper Lee Frecklington says that all the players are delighted with the win.

The Millers got their first win since August this afternoon beating QPR at the New York Stadium by one goal to nil scored by Izzy Brown.

Frecks, making his first start since mid-October the Millers captain told Radio Sheffield that is was a feeling of ‘relief’ after the win.

‘It’s been a long time since we’ve had that winning feeling and we’re all delighted,’ Frecks said. ‘Everyone is buzzing. Everyone is happy for the result but we’re also happy for Paul Warne because him and his staff have put a lot of work in in the last couple of weeks and they are very passionate Rotherham people. I’m not saying we didn’t want to win before but for him it’s extra special for him to get that victory this afternoon.

‘I’ve got a lot of respect for Paul and, in my eyes, he’s Mr Rotherham. The things he does don’t always get seen and he puts a tremendous amount of effort into everything behind the scenes. So the win was as much for him as everyone else.

‘It was a true Rotherham performance. We battled, we out-ran them and we were more direct. And when we are on top the fans are brilliant here, they’re so loud and it was a great atmosphere.’

Talking about the ‘spine’ of the team this afternoon, Frecks carried on, ‘I thought Pricey (Lewis Price) was magnificent in goal and he’s not played a lot of football this year. Some of the saves he’s pulled off were tremendous Richard Wood is an unsung hero to us. He puts his body on the line every week and we’re thankful we’ve got him. Me and Tom (Adeyemi) in the middle run around and try hard and Wardy (Danny Ward) is a handful up top and we know when we’ve got Danny Ward in the team we’ve got a chance.

‘I was happy to be back playing and I tried hard. It was just a typical Rotherham performance and to be back playing, injury free and three points I couldn’t have asked for anything better.’
