Rotherham United defender, Luke Foster has had surgery this week on a cruciate knee ligament injury that is going to keep him out for the rest of the season.

The twenty-six year old was injured at Hereford, two weeks ago, but played on, not realising how serious the injury was.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Manager, Andy Scott said, ‘It happened when he was pulled out of the field of play by an opponent. He felt something pop in his knee but carried on.

‘The next day it was swollen and we`ve had it scanned and the specialist said that he`d ruptured the cruciate.

‘It`s a blow for him, and for us, because he`s an important part of our squad.`

Foster joined the Millers in the summer signing a years` deal.
