Rotherham United defender, Luke Foster says he is ‘delighted’ to be joining his home town after signing from Stevenage on a one year deal today.

Luke, who was born in Mexborough, began his career as a trainee with the neighbours Sheffield Wednesday before playing for Lincoln, Oxford, Mansfield and Stevenage.

Speaking to the Official Site, the twenty-five year old said, ‘Rotherham is potentially a massive club. It has a bright future and I want to be a part of that. ‘I definitely think we’ve got a squad capable of winning promotion next season and I’ve been very impressed with the signings over the summer and I know the squad here already was strong.’

Asked about what he can bring to the Millers, he said, ‘I like to think I’m a leader on the pitch although I don’t necessarily boss people around but I like to set an example, which, as a defender I think is important.’

Luke was on the bench both times the Millers played Stevenage last season.
