Former Rotherham United defender, Stephen Brogan, who was let go at the end of the season played for Scunthorpe United in their seven-nil win over Bottesford Town.

Twenty-three year old Brogan started in the back four for the Iron yesterday and Scunthorpe’s Assistant Manager, Chris Brass told their Official Site that Paddy, along with two other players that were on trial and played in the game, will be given more time to impress. ‘They’ve come in and played well,’ Brass said ‘and they showed on the day that they have got a little bit of quality.

‘They deserve another chance, after all it’s pointless us getting trialists in unless they’re going to be pushing what we’ve got in the first team so they certainly give us something to think about and we’ll have another look at them next week.’
