Rotherham United’s Assistant Manager Paul Raynor is keeping his fingers crossed that both Kari Arnason and David Noble are both fit for Saturday’s game against Oxford.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Raynes said, ‘Arni has been building up his training all week but we have to assess him day-by-day and he will have a fitness test on Saturday. It would be a big boost but you never count your chickens. And David has had a full weeks training after his absence.

‘Performances haven’t been scintillating and no one is guaranteed a shirt at the moment. The back four did OK against Barnet although we did get pulled about a bit during the earlier period of the game and although we got a clean sheet we are more interested in winning matches. But we’ll look at it objectively.’

Speaking about Craig Morgan, Raynes said, ‘He’s shown his experience and strength since he came and he reads the game incredibly well. And, he’s still striving for that match fitness. He’d only played forty-five minutes before his debut for us which shows that he’s going to get better and better.’

Mitch Rose made his first team start on Saturday at Barnet and his Assistant Manager said, ‘He’s got the talent and got the technique, the hunger and he really wants to learn. He did well on Saturday but he’s got a lot more to learn and the nice thing is he’s hungry for knowledge and if you have someone like that, who doesn’t rest on their laurels, then he’s got a good chance of making a career for himself.’
