Terry Winter: Telboy
How long have you been supporting the Oxford?
What made you decided ‘Oxford` was the team for you?
I stumbled into football as I had always played locally but never really followed a team. My granddad who was a regular and had witnessed the rise of Oxford United from Headington United took me to my first match and eventually I became hooked.
What was the first Oxford game you saw at home
4th September 1982 home V Bournemouth we won 2-0 with goals from Mick Vinter and Andy Thomas
What was the first Oxford away game you went to?
27th January 1990 away to Southampton we lost 1-0 in our team that day was a certain Steve McClaren
Favourite ground ever been to
This is where you see my true colours has to be Kidderminster. The food is legendary.
Facilities wise Wembley is special for us with a track record of been twice and won twice.
Ground you hate going to
Any open exposed grounds when the weathers bad. (Ed Note: Oh you’ll adore Don Valley then!)
Of course, us Millers know Chris Wilder from his playing days with Rotherham, what do you think he is like as a Manager?
He comes across a very level headed person. Who is not shy to make changes when the team needs it. Potentially he has the making of a very good manager who likes to get his team playing nice passing football.
How are you finding life in League Two after coming up from the Conference?
I think most fans will agree that we had a good squad of players coming up to this level. But some of our players are being found out that they can not produce at this level week in week out. Hence the changes of recent weeks. After four years being away from the league I`m very happy to be a part of it again.
Who should we be looking out for on Saturday?
Our goalkeeper is very solid Ryan Clarke. Then out on pitch we have two strikers who finished last year with around 50 goals between them in Tommy Craddock and James Constable.
I`m travelling up to Rotherham for the first time this weekend so can you turn the heating on please. May the best team win 😉
Thanks a lot for taking time out to answer these for us, Terry. Don Valley WILL be cold!
