Just a few facts about our previous FA Cup encounters with Shrewsbury
Rotherham United have a rest from the league on Saturday when they travel to Greenhous Meadow to take on Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup second round.
The Shrews and Millers have already met at Don Valley this season which ended in a one-all draw with Lewis Grabban getting the first goal for the Millers on twenty-two minutes and Shane Cansdell Sherriff getting the equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
The only time the sides have met before in the FA Cup was in January 1983. The game ended two-one to the Shrews with John Seasman scoring the Millers goal at Gay Meadow.
The Millers have never won at Greenhous Meadow – having played there three times they have lost all three games – and haven’t actually scored a goal there! The first game in December 2008 was a one-nil win for the Shrews with the Millers having David Stockdale and Drewe Broughton sent off. The following season the Shrews won two-nil and last season it ended one-nil to the home side.
