Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans told Radio Sheffield that today’s game was a ‘shambles from start to finish’.

Speaking after the five-nil loss to Dagenham and Redbridge, the Millers Boss, who was ridiculed throughout by the Daggers’ fans, said, ‘Young Josh (Morris) switched off after four or five minutes when they got the goal and from thereon in it was Andy Warrington verses Dagenham. It was poor as I think it can be which takes nothing away from John Sills’ team.

‘There was a severe lack of effort, commitment and passion and there is no excuse and we can only apologise. We just weren’t there today and that’s the responsibility of the management team. I’m the manager, I pick them and we will be back at the training ground in the morning and talk to them some more.

‘Andy Warrington stopped it being more and it was totally, wholly unacceptable. Did we have a player who played well other than Warrington? Did we have a player who’s done OK other than Warrington? Did we have a player who gave one hundred per cent other than Warrington? I’m not so sure there was. We’ve been smashed today and it could have been more and it will be a long trip home and it will be a long night because I’ll take this personally.

‘It’s the worst performance I’ve had ever from one of my teams. Every manager has a bad day but that was BAD. I’m also unhappy about comments made by the referee to one of my players which I shall be addressing with the match referee. But that takes nothing away from Dagenham who were super today.’
