Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans had nothing but praise for the two debutantes in the game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Laurie Wilson and Emi Martinez joined just a day before the game both playing the full ninety minutes.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss said ‘I’m delighted with both.

‘Martinez let three goals in but didn’t do anything wrong. Wilson gives us something in terms of energy and purpose on the right that we’ve lacked a little bit.’

Speaking about the squad he has, the Gaffer said, ‘We have options to players to come back in from loans. We brought young Danny Rowe back today. His contract is up in the summer so we need to make a decision about him. When we’ve tried to track him when he’s been coming and training with us and playing in reserve games we’ve not been able to assess if he should be going forward with us.

‘We’ve got Richard Wood who I went to watch last weekend and he was on the ‘phone to me shortly after I left to say he’d been playing brilliant – up until that day! And we’ve got Jonson Clarke-Harris just fifteen miles down the road with Doncaster. So we’ve got the opportunity to bring those guys back if we need them.

‘Actually squad wise, barring the odd suspension, we’re in great shape.’
