Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said after this evening`s win that he didn’t want to work for anyone else but the Stewart Family.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the Millers secured Championship football, the Millers Boss said, ‘The Chairman has always said the next step is the Premier League – he even said it when I came here in League Two!

‘I`m very humble to work for a man who`s been great to me as a manager and fantastic to me personally which is from the heart. That`s the Stewart family and the people I work for and I don`t want to be working for anyone else. And, if they`ll have me, I want to work for these guys for a long, long time.

‘I’ve been linked with a lot of jobs. Agents are agents aren’t they but I`m very fortunate to work for good people. I was told by the Chairman four months ago that if we go into League One then I`m still his manager and there aren’t many Chairmen who would go about saying that.

‘And I’ve got a wonderful family and the Rotherham United family which is the supporters. And I can`t say I’ve got a dad in Tony Stewart because he thinks I`m his brother!

‘I`m just proud to be here.`

So, will this statement this evening put to bed all the ‘he’s off to Peterborough at the end of the season’ rumours?
