Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the two back-to-back wins have nothing to do with the fact that he`s back on the touchline after serving a six game stadium ban.

‘It`s very easy to attribute the success to my return,` he told MillersPlayer after the two-one win over Morecambe tonight, ‘but it`s got absolutely nothing to do with it.

‘My staff worked round the clock in my absence for the six games and the staff in the background like the media people were working long hours into the night to make sure I was getting to see the games.

‘I`m also grateful that I’ve got a Chairman who stuck by me because a lot of Chairman wouldn’t have done that.

‘I want to be the longest serving manager at Rotherham United and I don`t even know how long that is but I want it to be a long time. I never want to leave this football club, not by choice anyway, and if I ever left it then I`d be in the kop end singing the names because I`m like a supporter.

‘Apart from when I go home to see the family I live most of my life in Rotherham. I love the town, I love the people and the people of Rotherham have accepted me more than any other club I’ve managed and this is a wonderful football club and I`m desperate to bring the success here.`

So, why have we taken to the ‘big` Scotsman? What`s different about him than the other Manager`s we`ve had in the past few seasons?

Personally, I think it`s because he`s actually coming out and telling us, the fans, what`s happening at the club – whether you believe all he says or not, he is keeping that promise he made to us. And, I do genuinely believe that he does love Rotherham – he gave me the impression that as soon as he came he settled straight in.
