Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was pleased to have given his Millers fans probably one of the best moments of the season last night at Valley Parade.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the two-nil win the Millers Boss said, ‘We`ve come to a big football club tonight and the atmosphere was incredible and my players stood up to that. But, at the end of the day, we`ve only got three points to take with us to Plymouth on Saturday and the boys will be back training tomorrow getting ready for another difficult game.

‘It was a cup tie game and they probably shaded the first half. We came into the game more in the second half when we counter-attacked but most of all we carried on from our display against Exeter and Fleetwood.`

Asked about his team selection for the game, Evans said, ‘If I`m being totally honest Claude (Davis) wasn`t playing but David Noble pulled out with a virus. It was a terrible late challenge on Michael O`Connor meaning he had to come off but I want to mention Mitch Rose who took his place. He who was an academy player last year and I sent him on loan to Stamford. My staff looked at me as if I should be in a strait jacket when I put him on tonight but the young man has such a heart and such a desire and yet he might not even travel to Plymouth with us.

‘I think the match officials were strong tonight and you have to be when you come into an atmosphere like this.

‘I said at the beginning of the season it would take a squad and we said it would take positivity and I’ve just come out of the dressing room where the atmosphere was just job done and we`ll get ready for Saturday where it won`t be an easy game at Plymouth. We`ll got with confidence to Plymouth but we`ll also go with a touch of realism of how tough it`s going to be.

‘It was a great three points for us but if we don`t look after Plymouth then the journey up here probably won`t mean as much.`
