Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans told Radio Sheffield that he didn’t expect to get any new loan signings in today.

Saying he’s hoping to get a player or players in before Saturday the Millers Boss said, ”We are still hopeful something will happen but the market is difficult. We are working hard to add two or three players. The two players we spoke about on Monday are still on the cards and I was told by the Assistant Manager it could happen today but I don’t believe these things until the paperwork is signed. Both players have told me that they’d like to come and play a part in the next six or seven weeks here but their football club have to agree to that.

‘We’ve got options elsewhere. We’ve only got one chance now to get this right and whoever comes will have to come and play a part.

‘No one argues that, compared to the rest, we’ve got a small squad but we’d like to think we’ve got quality. Our task is to add a little bit more quality to that and to hope we don’t get too many injuries or suspensions in this crucial period and we’re working as hard as we can behind the scenes to do that. ‘

Speaking about the players he’d like to get in, Steve said, ‘We’d like to get a left-sided player in who can play further forward or at left-back. We’d like to get another striker in and we might have to bring a right-sided player in. But, I’ve always maintained any player we bring in will have to be of the right quality to come here. I’m not going to fetch players from other clubs just to sit on the bench.’
