Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says he’d identified Adam Collin as a target in February and is a welcome addition to the staff.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the Millers Boss said, ‘Adam is a big man and we’ve admired him for a long period of time and a lot of Carlisle’s success in the past few seasons were down to the big man’s performances.

‘He had interest from two other established League One clubs and, I won’t kid myself, but we had a major benefit with those clubs being in the South and we are nearer his home. Adam has spoke highly of his time at Carlisle and he speaks very highly of the management and the supporters up there.

‘He’s six feet four, has a big presence, he’s strong, has a great habit of keeping the ball out of the net and kicks well. He’s come from non-league and I love players like that because of their hunger and their desire and what is important for us is that he has the capability of doing well in League One.

‘So now it’s game on between him and Shearer and what a fight that’s going to be. May the best man win.’
