Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans thought his side deserved more from today`s game at the Priestfield Stadium.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after losing one-nil to league leaders Gillingham, the Millers Boss said, ‘Anyone who has watched the game and says we didn`t deserve more or telling lies.

‘To be fair they started better than us and were more in command but I think it was one-way traffic in the second half. Their goalkeeper made a fantastic save from Michael (O`Connor) and I don`t know why we haven`t had a penalty on Daniel Kearns for assault in the box.

‘In terms of effort and passion in the second half that`s as good as you can get. We had a fair go and Gillingham are a quality side but I think it would be fair to say in the second half that they’ve been totally dominated in every area of the pitch.

‘I don`t think we got a lot from the officials today. When we come to a place like this and don`t get the penalty when Daniel Kearns was pulled back you go away shaking your head.

‘We`ve taken no points from Gillingham in two games and we wonder why. We smashed them at home and we accept that Gillingham were the better side here in the first half but once we changed it we were back with our normal zest and passion. And, if you look at the balance of play, a draw would have been fair.

‘We`ve done enough to get something out of the game today and they went four-five-one at home and were hanging on. But credit to them and they will go up as Champions.

‘We wish Gillingham well and we`ll go to Morecambe on Saturday and see what shape we are in.`
