Rotherham United striker/winger, Kevin Ellison is hoping he will be in the squad for tonight’s game at Shrewsbury.

The former Stockport County, Hull City and Tranmere player had an X-ray on a foot injury on Friday and was ruled out of the FA Cup tie with Luton the following day.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Ellison said, ‘I took a whack against Port Vale and my foot bruised and swelled up and was quite painful. But, I got on with it because the team are doing well and I didn’t want to lose my place. I trained OK on Thursday but when I woke up Friday morning my foot had gone black and was swollen.

‘I am waiting for the results of the X-ray but I should be alright for the Shrewsbury game.

‘I’m not a good watcher and it was horrible having to watch from the sidelines when you want to be out there playing and helping the lads.’

Talking about tonight’s game at the New Meadow, the thirty-year old said, ‘Shrewsbury are a good team, especially at home and we recognise how tough it’s going to be. They will be out to stop us but we are on a decent run ourselves at the moment.’
