Rotherham United’s Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas has asked the fans not to panic just because a buyer hasn’t been named yet. Although, in all fairness I have to presume this was said before the statement from the Booth family yesterday evening.

Mr Douglas was talking about the naming of the Administrator’s preferred buyer and speaking to The Advertiser he said, ‘Buying a football club isn’t like buying a car. It’s not just a question of it going to the highest bidder, their long term investment has to be investigated. The Administrator has to study the bids very carefully and Jeremy Bleazard has to make sure the bidders are aware of any liabilities they are taking on.

‘Just because things are quiet it doesn’t mean nothing is happening.’

‘We ask that supporters stay calm and positive.’
