Rotherham United striker Matt Derbyshire couldn`t have scored his tenth goal of the season at a more crucial time.

Getting the ball rolling last night by scoring the first goal the twenty-nine year old told Radio Sheffield, ‘It`s always nice to score and that`s what I`m up there for.

‘I hadn’t started too many games at the front half of the season but it`s been nice to get the starts in the second half and get the goals for the team and help the team stay in the league.

‘It`s not all about me it`s about the guys in that dressing room who’ve all helped to night and cheered each other on.`

Asked about the three points deductions, Derbs admitted, ‘It was terrible and everyone was down. But the last couple of games we`ve picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves off and managed to get safety in the Championship.

‘Staying in the Championship is fantastic and for everyone whose working at the club, from the kitchen staff up, it`s a massive, massive achievement. We`ve got a great group of players here and hopefully, next year, we can move on and move up the table.

‘We`ll enjoy tonight but then we`re all professional players here and we`ve got to go to Leeds and do another job on Saturday.`
