Rotherham United defender, Dale Tonge has signed a two year extension to his contract this afternoon.

Speaking to the Official Site, the twenty-six year old said, ‘I`m happy to sign a new deal. It offers me some security and I`m happy to be one of the longest serving players at this club.`

Tongey joined the Millers from Barnsley in the summer of 2007 and has played over one hundred first team games.

‘I`ve had some injury problems but had a good run in the side at the end of last season and am looking forward to my first proper pre-season in two years.`

Dale was one of six players offered new contracts at the end of last season with Ollie Banks and Jamie Annerson being two more who have signed new deals.
