Rotherham United defender Joe Mattock is looking forward to his first game at Wembley.

Speaking to Click Here the twenty-eight year old said, ‘I think this is going to be one of the biggest games I’ve played in in my career.

‘I’ve had two promotions which were both automatic so I’ve never played at Wembley so it’s massive for me and I’m really looking forward to it.’

To get to Wembley the Millers had to take on Scunthorpe with Joe saying, ‘It was good for me to get the games because I wasn’t sure I was going to play. I was happy with my performance, especially the second leg.

‘It was a tough two legs over Scunthorpe who were a good side. At Glandford Park the first twenty minutes were frighteningly fast and they were tough to keep up with. And it was like that for the first half-an-hour of the second leg as well although I think we were a little bit more comfortable at home and we got the result. They were a tough side and broke away fast on the break.

‘Now we’ve got to stay focused. We’re training as though it’s a normal week and we will prepare well. It is a big game but if you make it something bigger than it is, get worked up, get anxious then that won’t do you any favours. We’ve got to go into this game making sure we do things the right way.’

Joe joined the Millers in the summer of 2015 and last year signed an extension to his contract which keeps him at the New York Stadium until June 2019. Leicester born Joe has played over one hundred times in a Rotherham shirt, thirty-nine of those coming this season with his only goal coming in our win over Portsmouth to give the Millers all three points at home.
