Hartlepool Reserves 2 Rotherham Reserves 0

Their first outing of 2018 saw Rotherham Reserves lose two-nil away at Hartlepool.

After a goalless first half, ‘Pool Reserves came out the better and only a superb save from goalkeeper Lewis Price from Jack Blackford, putting the ball around the post. But not long afterwards Blackford again caused problems getting by his marker getting the ball to Jon Weirs who stuck the ball into the bottom corner of the net making it one-nil to the hosts.

Ryan Catterick did well at full stretch to tip a shot over the bar from A Trialist of the Millers equalising. But it was mostly the hosts and they doubled their score when Liam Travers got his head to a cross duly finding the net.

And Travers could have had another late on in the game when he skipped inbetween two defenders but found Price was still in good form as the Millers’ ‘keeper held onto the shot.
