Rotherham United’s Irish midfielder, Mickey Cummins, has echoed his manager and said that he was disappointed with the game on Tuesday night.

‘I thought we started off alright and got a lot of movement in the first few minutes,’ he told MillersWorld. ‘But then Darlington started to dictate the pace and slowed the game down and that doesn’t suit us. We try to utilise the space behind and that never happened on Tuesday. Losing to my former team hurts but it always hurts when we lose three points. We seemed to drop a gear and we are concerned that there’s something not right there and we want to know where the problem is. We have to learn. We are a young side but there is experience there. We have to take it on board and learn and hope we can get three points on Saturday.

‘I was asked to play on the right on Tuesday and I’m not used to that but the gaffer believes I can play there and I hope I did a proper job.’
