Rotherham United new boy Shaun Cummings says he is pleased to have convinced Manager Paul Warne to give him a deal with the Millers.

‘I came last week and I’ve been training with the team,’ the twenty-eight year old defender told iFOLLOW after signing a years contract today, ‘so it’s good to get a deal finally sorted out.

‘It was nice for me to come here and see what things are like . I’m still getting to know everyone but the new training ground is decent.

‘I had a conversation with the Manager and he was very honest in what he had to say so I’ve took that on board and will give back what I can when get out on the pitch.

‘I’ve seen the quality we’ve got in the team but hopefully I can show my experience and my game and have an influence in getting Rotherham promoted. I’ve seen how fit the team are and I need to get up to that standard which I hope to get to pretty soon.’

Admitting that since leaving Millwall it’s been a frustrating time, the former MK Dons and Millwall defender said ‘I’ve just been sitting at home, going to the gym on my own but now I’ve found a home and I can move on quickly and get back out on the pitch and do what I know best.’
