Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart told Radio Sheffield that he had had an exciting time this week regarding the new stadium.

‘Over the last twelve months we`ve been working with architects and developers which we narrowed down to four six months ago, Mr Stewart said. ‘They`ve been putting down designs and specifications and talking to the board for our input on hospitality etc etc and on Monday it was like the X-Factor Finals! We`d got DVD`s to watch, brochures to read and the four developers and architects had an hour and a half to present to the directors their finished article. And, we had some really good presentations starting at half past eight Monday morning going onto six o`clock in the evening. We are really pleased with the four outcomes that have been delivered to us.

‘Now, we`ve got to deliberate over Christmas and get that four down to two and then, by the end of January, we will have appointed a builder and an architect.

‘I`m dying to show the fans and the people of Rotherham what has been happening behind the scenes regarding the new stadium and I`m sure it will turn heads.`

We know the new stadium is going to be bowl shaped; going to be iconic. But, what do you want from a stadium?
