Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart told David Beddows of The Rotherham Advertiser that Paul Warne could be the next Rotherham Manager.

Warney will be taking temporary charge of the Millers first team – not for the first time – with Mr Stewart saying, ‘The club and the fans would like it but, at the end of the day, Paul has never been a Manager.

‘What he has done is got close with the lads and served an apprenticeship with a lot of Managers over the year.

‘He’s like a stick of rock with Rotherham United implanted in the middle of him. He is no mug and who says it is temporary? If the guy wins the next three games – and he could get three games in before we have another Manager – who knows? I wouldn’t argue that if we win the next three games with him in charge then he’d have a chance of being seriously considered.

‘But we are getting a lot of people coming forward for the job.

‘And it’s not just about better results it’s about better performances.’
