Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart says that although talks are still ongoing between him and Manager Neil Warnock he is hopeful that he will have some news for us by Wednesday next week.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser Mr Stewart said that he wants a decision sooner rather than later.

‘We’ve had meaningful talks and while there are talks there is always encouragement. We do still have plenty to talk about but we are getting there and I’m hopeful we should have some definite news by Wednesday.’

Mr Stewart made it clear that Neil Warnock was still the number one choice and they were planning more talks.

Earlier this week the Gaffer said that he wouldn’t blame the club if they were looking at prospective managers in case he decided to leave saying, ‘I can’t let my heart rule my head. I have to weight up everything from afar and it’s not something you can rush.’
