Rotherham United have awarded Paul Warne a testimonial at the end of the season.

The former midfielder played over two hundred times for the Millers in two spells for the club pitching in with thirty-two goals.

Speaking to the Official Site, club Chairman, Tony Stewart said,’It`s with great pleasure that we will honour Paul`s time at the club.

‘Paul has given the club many years of service including player, coach and joint caretaker-manager. His ebullient nature has a positive effect on everyone at the club and the determination and passion he showed on the field as a player is reflected in his nature and work ethic off it as a coach. In recent years we have seen many sides to his character and he continues to work tirelessly as a coach, whilst still taking the time to do work with Millers Player, the Community Sports Trust and the match day programme.’

I’m pleased the club have decided to honour Warney in this way – as we know he’s stepped into any role that’s been asked of him over the last couple of years and done it all with enthusiasm as well as always having a bit of fun along the way.
