Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart is expecting Neil Warnock to be at the New York Stadium next season.

After helping to make the Millers safe at the weekend the Millers Manager has been in charge of a team who have gone eleven games unbeaten.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Chairman said, ‘We’ve had talks and we are going to have more talks in the next week or so.

‘I’m an optimistic guy and I think Neil will be here next season. I think it’s just a matter of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.

‘In the first three games which we got a draw and lost two I told Neil that I could see a difference. But we were expecting to win the likes of Charlton and Bolton and when we didn’t I thought how are we going to go on against the likes of Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday. But we turned the top clubs over.

‘With twelve games to go I was very uncomfortable and I thought we were running out of time. But to witness every game and to see things turned around like they have been it’s been phenomenal.

‘After having two seasons in the Championship I didn’t think we’d learned a lot but we have. And the right people like Neil Warnock and his team who can get the team enthused with the drive and passion we always like at Rotherham we witnessed that it exists and we can carry that forward into next season.

‘If you’d have written it all down you just wouldn’t have believed it.

‘But Neil knows the business inside out. I can hear him think. He knows how to get the players up for the game. He’s got the skill to know who the danger men are in the sides that we are playing. He’s got all the tricks in his box and he uses them to get us where we are.’
