Rotherham United’s Caretaker Manager Paul Warne says that John Breckin is a good sounding board for him.

Warney added Brecks to the back-room staff this week and says he’s a ‘calming influence.’

‘He doesn’t say a lot during team meetings,’ Warney told Radio Sheffield, ‘but what he does say is pertinent.

‘And he’s a good sounding board for me. I speak to Hammy (Matty Hamshaw) and Dibbs (Andy Dibble) but it’s just another voice and if he thought I was doing it wrong, because of my relationship with Breck, he’d tell me. Whether others who have just joined the first team would be brave enough to say ‘Warney you’re mental’ I don’t know. But John would pull me and say ‘you can’t be doing that’.

‘When he says to me I think you’ve got it right and I think I’ve got it right then it gives me confidence in what I’m doing. And I hope that will permutate through to the players.’
